Intertops Poker’s Last September FPP Race Starts Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the start date for the fourth and final of four FPP Races held at Intertops Poker. Running from 04:00 GMT on September 23 to 03:59 GMT on September 30, Race 4 of Intertops Poker’s September FPP Races promises a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Here’s how it works: Players accumulate FPPs, or Frequent Player Points, by playing at Intertops Poker’s real money cash tables. At the end of the promotional period, the 80 players who have earned the most FPPs during that period will split the $5,000 prize pool, each player receiving a cash prize of at least $10. The highest FPP earner will win $580 while the second highest will win $440. Third place gets $360, fourth gets $325, fifth gets $295 and down from there. Places 12 through 19 get $60 each. Places 20 through 29 get $40 each. Places 30 through 39 get $35 each. Places 40 through 49 get $27 each. Places 50 through 59 get $20 each. Places 60 through 70 get $15 each. And places 71 through 80 get $10 each.

Intertops Poker will be keeping an ongoing leaderboard tracking players rankings in the race in real time.

David Williams Separates Himself from Field on Day 2 of Borgata Open

While the world of online poker is blowing up with news about Full Tilt Poker, there is a very interesting World Poker Tour event going on that is starting to draw quite a bit of attention as well.  The 2011 Borgata Poker Open kicked off this past Sunday with Day 1a, and was followed up by Day 1b on Monday.  Yesterday, the two days combined the field to make the push towards the final table, and there were quite a few big time names still remaining in the field.  One of the many names out there is poker pro David Williams.

Williams separated himself from the field on Day 2, and took a chip lead with an impressive 727,100 chips.  The next closes to him on the leaderboard is Maurice Hawkins with 646,500 chips.  Two other big names who held their own throughout Day 2 were Vanessa Selbst, who ended with 315k chips, and one of the hottest players in poker currently, Will Failla, who ended up with 315k chips as well.

Day 1b chip leader Jeff Madsen struggled to get anything going, and ended the day with 100k chips left, but is still alive heading into Day 3.  There were also quite a few big names who were eliminated from the event as well, with players like Gavin Smith, Andy Frankenberger, Hasan Habib, Allen Kessler, Christian Harder, and Todd Terry all being eliminated before Day 2 came to a close.

Day 2 saw quite a few eliminations, and ended with only 170 players who will be moving on to Day 3.  With the incredible number of entrants at 1,313; 100 total players will make the cash, and Day 3 of the Borgata Open will be played until the field is cut down to only 27 players remaining.

The current top ten at the WPT Borgata Poker Open features a wide range of stacks, with David Williams leading with his 727k stack, and the 10th place player, David Diaz holding 457,100 chips.  Day 3 should be the most interesting day yet, and could set up a few of the big names who are left in the event to make their final push to the $922k+ first place prize!

Poker Pros to Battle for Expected £4 Million Prize Pool at PokerStars.com EPT London Poker Festival

The PokerStars.com European Poker Tour (EPT), Europe’s richest and most popular poker tour is coming to London this month. This year also marks the first ever EPT London Quest, an exciting competition run through Twitter where one lucky player will win a seat in an EPT London side-event tournament. Poker fans will need to follow the account @PokerStars and hashtag #EPTQuest from 8.30am on Sunday 2nd October for clues for a password and details of a secret central London location. Once they crack the code and turn up to the location, they will need to correctly say the password then play and win a 5-minute heads-up tournament. Win the tournament, and they will receive one of nine golden chips to enter a live game against the other eight winners. The champion of this table will take their seat at the “No Limit Turbo – Win the Button!” tournament at 8.00pm the same day.

Last year the record-breaking PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Main Event was the biggest poker tournament ever held in the UK, attracting 848 players. It made David Vamplew the highest-earning Scottish poker player ever with an amazing £900,000 first prize.

Amanda Leatherman Joins Team Bodog

Bodog has signed another member of the poker sisterhood in Amanda Leatherman who will be joining Evelyn Ngand Tatjana Pasalic as Team Bodog trebles up.

The single, ex-cheerleader is well known to the poker community and will soon be hitting the felts in the famous Bodog brand colours…once her knee has healed up. Being a Bodog girl Amanda likes a drink and at her recent birthday party she had a fight with a hammock…and lost, resulting in an impressive gash on her right knee.

Originally from North Carolina, Amanda can now be found lounging on the beaches of LA, but always in very impressive shoes and little else!

Amanda stated: “The Bodog life and my own are scarily similar. I can’t wait to do the Bodog photo shoot. I’ll be posting those shots on my facebook as soon as I have them but in the meantime I’ll see you all at the tables, both live and online.”

Bwin Poker Hosts GSOP 7 and GSOP Mini 7 Satellites

Bwin Poker is hosting full satellite tournament series’ for the seventh season of both the Grand Series of Poker and the Grand Series of Poker Mini.

The GSOP 7 takes place between September 25 and October 16, 2011 and is made up 18 events all leading up to a GSOP $500,000 Grand Slam Final. In all, $3.1 million will be awarded in this year’s series.

The GSOP Mini 7 main event takes place over the same dates and culminates in a GSOP Mini $200,000 Grand Slam Final. The total guaranteed prize pool for this years GSOP Mini is $600,000.

LadBrokes Poker Irish Poker Festival 10 Seat Guarantee

Earlier today, Ladbrokes Poker, announced it is guaranteeing 10 seats (worth €550 each) for the main event of the 2011 Irish Poker Festival in the weekly qualifying final on the 15th September. Ladbrokes Poker has also lowered the buy-in to the weekly final to €50+5 with daily satellites available.

The Irish Poker Festival is a must on anyone’s Poker calendar – the 2010 event saw 633 runners in the main event alone, and 2011 is already shaping up to be bigger. Cake Poker is looking for players to send to next year’s Aussie Millions tournament, to be held between January 12 and 30, 2012 at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia, where the first prize this time around is estimated to be about $2 million AUD.

Satellites into the 2012 Aussie Millions started at Cake Poker on September 1 and continue through December 18, with buy-ins starting as low as $0.20.
