Earn 3 Million America’s Cardroom Rank Points & Win $50K Dream Car

Last Updated on

At America’s Cardroom right now, players can try to win a dream car worth $50k in the site’s Rank Point Overdrive promotion.

In America’s Cardroom’s Rank Point Overdrive promo, players race to see which one can earn 3,000,000 rank points before anyone else. The first America’s Cardroom player to do so by Dec. 1, ’12, wins a $50,000 dream car.

Who’s dream car, you might ask? Because certainly everyone would make a different selection. That’s why in this promotion its the winner’s choice of dream car up to $50,000 in value. You pick it, America’s Cardroom buys it.

Best of all, you get to hold on to all the rank points you accumulate in the Rank Point Overdrive promo, and among other benefits advance yourself up the status ladder in the America’s Cardroom Elite Benefits poker loyalty program.

Here’s how you earn rank points at America’s Cardroom:

• In cash games everyone dealt cards in the hand (regardless of the actions taken with those cards) divides evenly 5.5 rank points for every $1 collected by the house in rake.
• In tournaments, all entrants earn 5.5 rank points individually for every $1 they pay in tournament fees (which is the number after the ‘+’ sign in tournament buy-ins, such as the $3 in ‘$30 + 3’.)

And America’s Cardroom wants to remind players that The Beast promotion, an unparalleled opportunity to earn rank points at an uprecedented rate, is still running strong throughout the Rank Point Overdrive promo.

The prize will only be awarded if a player reaches the 3,000,000 RP mark by the promotion’s end.

PokerStars Finalizes Deal to buy Full Tilt Poker

Last Updated on

PokerstarsReliable sources have informed Holdem Poker Chat that PokerStars has finalized a deal with The Department of Justice to take over the assets of Full Tilt Poker.  Details  remain elusive but the happy news for poker players is that any deal with the DoJ always had to include the return of funds stuck on the defunct Full Tilt Poker.

The waiting game has begun, but we have never been this close to players getting paid, and at long last there is real hope. To quote Sir Winston Churchill:  “Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

Cake Poker Extends Biggest Guarantees “Indefinitely”

Last Updated on

For July 2012, Cake Poker has extended some its most popular biggest money guaranteed tournaments, namely its $65k Super Stack Guaranteed and $100k Super Stack Guaranteed tournaments. Both these events have been extended “indefinitely” which means that as long as they keep coming back for more, you can keep coming back for more. Players in these events can continue to expect to find enormous overlays (read: better poker odds, aka “more for your money”) in those events.

The direct buy-in for the $65k GTD Super Stack, which starts at 21:00GMT (5:00 pm ET) is $500 + $30 while the direct buy-in for the $100k GTD Super Stacks, which starts one hour earlier, at 20:00GMT (4:00 pm ET), is $100 + $9. (By the way, that’s not a typo: the $100,000 GTD buy-in is only $109 compared to the $530 buy-in for the $65,000 GTD.

What’s more, on July 1, Cake Poker started adding $500 bounties on the heads of ten of its Take Cake poker pros, like Felipe Mojave, in the site’s new innovation: “Pro Elite’ Bounty Edition tournaments. Expect to see more of these popping up at Cake Poker guaranteed events as time goes on, including in upcoming $100k Super Stack GTDs and $65k Super Stack GTDs.

For those unfamiliar with the term, a bounty tournament is one in which a certain player or players have a price on his head, so to speak. The player who eliminates any player with a bounty on his head from the tournament receives that bounty, which is theirs to keep no matter how they fare in the overall tournament.

July Lock Poker Battle of the Ronin Begins

Last Updated on

The July 2012 Lock Poker Battle of the Ronin has begun. Each month Lock Poker runs the Battle of the Ronin, a month long contest with more than $1 million in cash prizes.

The full name of the competition is the Lock Poker Battle of the Ronin Rake Chase, and it’s those added last two words that tell you exactly what you need to do excel in this race: earn points by paying rake.

You already eanr VIP Points every time you participate in a real money cash game hand at Lock Poker because the site takes a small percentage, called the rake, out from each pot. To compensate players for this cut of their pot that goes to the house, Lock Poker awards players who pay into that rake VIP Points. And in the Battle of the Ronin Rake Chase, cash prizes are awarded to the players who earn the most VIP Points this way over the course of one month’s time.

Best of all, you’re not competing against other players in this rake chase, only against the clock to reach the highest level of target points you can. Each time you reach a new, higher target level of points, Lock Poker will award you a cash prize. You get your first prize of $1.50 for earning 70 points. Earn 56,000 points and you get a $7,500 cash award. What’s more, these awards are cumulative, so by the time you’ve reached that 56,000 points mark and earned that final $7,500 prize, you’ve cumulatively earned $45,142.

But there are only a set number of prizes available at each level, so you’d better hurry.

Become Bovada Poker’s Next King of the Felt

Last Updated on

Back in January we first told you about Bovada Poker’s King of the Felt contest. Today we’re here to remind you of this ongoing opportunity that offers players weekly heads-up prizes of $1,000 and $2,500 in weekly freerolls.

The Bovada Poker King of the Felt promotion is for the site’s loyal Sit ‘n’ Go tournament players. To participate, simply place and get paid out in just 3 Bovada Poker Sit ‘n Gos in a single week. To place in a tournament means to finish in either 1st or 2nd place. Meet this requirement and you’ll receive a raffle ticket in a weekly drawing for a chance to play a heads-up match against the reigning King of the Felt (i.e. the previous week’s winner) for a winner-take-all cash prize of $1,000 and the title of reigning King of the Felt. That means you would then be the one returning week after week to try for another $1,000 heads-up prize each time until some other lucky contender finally unseats you.

If a player can manage to remain King of the Felt for 10 weeks running, Bovada Poker will award him or her a prize package that includes a seat in the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas.

In addition to the raffle ticket into the King of the Felt drawing, players can also win seats in $2,500 in weekly freerolls by winning or placing in more than the minimum required 3 SNGs in a week. Place in at least 6 SNGs and get a ticket to the $1,000 King of the Felt Freeroll; place in at least 9 SNGs and get a ticket as well to the $1,500 King of the Felt Freeroll.

Intertops Poker Holding $40k Diamond Mine Tournament Series

Last Updated on

In earlier posts we told you about Cake Poker’s $40k Diamond Mine Tournament Series, part of its larger Gold Cards promotion. Well, as part of the Cake Network of poker sites, Intertops Poker is also holding its own $40k Diamond Mine Tournament Series.

As a part of the larger Gold Cards program, entry into this special tournament series made up of 13 tournaments spread across two weeks with a combined $40,000 total guaranteed prize pool is with the right Gold Cards, namely diamond suited gold cards.

Gold Cards are one of the currencies for Intertops Poker’s player rewards program. You earn Gold Cards by contributing to the rake taken from real money cash game pots and the fees paid as part of tournament buy-ins. When awarded, the Gold Cards are awarded randomly, meaning neither you nor Intertops Poker knows which card you’re going to get until you get it. If it’s a diamond suited card, this month of May 2012, then you’re in luck. In addition to whatever instant prize may come with that card, and in addition to whatever prize-winning gold card combinations it may help you complete in the May 2012 Match & Win game card, it also may gain you entry into one of the remaining Diamond Mine Series tournaments on the schedule.

We’re about halfway into the schedule now, which started on May 16 and ends on June 1. As of today, May 21, there are 8 Diamond Mine tournaments left with prize pools of at least $2,000 all the way up to and including the main event with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.

To find out which diamond gold cards are needed to get into which tournaments, see the full $40k Diamond Mine Tournament Series schedule on the Intertops Poker site.

Get Ready For June Lock Poker $1 Million Battle of the Ronin

Last Updated on

One of the most popular and rewarding regular promotions at Lock Poker is the Battle of the Ronin, a month long points race with more than $1 million in cash prizes. And right now, the site is reminding players, is the time to gear up for the June 2012 event.

The Lock Poker Battle of the Ronin Rake Chase offers 2,900 individual cash prizes divided amongst 35 prize levels, for a total guaranteed prize pool of more than $1,000,000. To earn as many of these prizes as you can, simply earn as many VIP points as you can by playing at Lock Poker’s real money cash game and tournament tables.

That’s the best part of the Lock Poker Battle of the Ronin Rake Chase: that you’re only chasing the clock (or calendar, in this case) and not your fellow player. That gives every player equal chance to win the maximum $45,000 top prize. Earn 100 points to get your first prize of $1.50. All cash prizes are credited to player accounts as soon as they reach the required number of points. Earn 8,000 points to get all 35 prizes for the $45,000 total.

The only limitation to be aware of is that there is only a certain number of prizes at each level. At the first level, for example, there are 400 prizes of $1.50 up for grabs. But there are only 4 prizes of $7,500 available at the 8,000 point level. So in that sense, you are competing against time and your fellow player to nab those limited cash prizes.

All cash deposited into player accounts from this contest have no play through requirements and may be withdrawn as cash as of 7 days after being deposited.
