As part of the ongoing process to bring the fun back into playing poker and being more attractive to the leisure player, Bodog‘s poker product is implementing a series of blocking systems to stop the likes of Poker Site Scout, PokerDB and Shark Scope from garnering information that (once again) mainly serve professional players.
Patrik Selin explains: “These poker operator information portals are another example of how online poker is assisting in its own demise. I have commented previously on how the operators are doing this to themselves with hand histories, HUDs and rake back, all of which we will be cutting out. The next tier in the process is the operator information sites. Nobody who is playing poker for fun visits these sites, or, probably even knows they exist. They primarily exist to serve the needs of the professional players and therefore we will be implementing online protection against these sites to further aid the crucial leisure poker player.”
Bodog have also recently released a new lobby with a much more user-friendly interface making navigation easier, again keeping the player new to the game or playing for fun, firmly at the forefront of everything they do.
Popular online gambling processor eWalletXpress has allegedly been shut down by US authorities for illegal activity. eWalletXpress which is part of the Navaho network started out as a processor for internet porn sites but quickly grew once they began accepting gambling transactions.
According to BingoWire, eWalletXpress sent out an email to it’s merchants this morning which read, “We regret to inform you that we are no longer able to continue service at this time due to a federal warrant issued to seize our funds…..”
This can leave a huge hole in an online gambling industry that is still feeling the affects of losing other US processors like Neteller and Paypal. No Online Poker Sites or online casinos are currently offering eWalletXpress as an option.
As of this writing there is no answer for the question on everyone’s mind, “What will happen to my money”. We hope that like Neteller funds will be delivered to their owners, but we can’t say for sure. We’ll stay on top of this story as it develops and will do our best to provide you with the answers you need.
Sportsbook Poker announces a new tournament player competition for August. The Tourney King promotion will feature leaderboards for Multi Table Tournament players. In a unique twist, there will be two leaderboards. One for buyins of $20 or more and one for lower buyins. The top 50 on both boards get cash and ticket prizes. Also the top 250 in both leaderboards will win entry to a $20,000 tournament. Details are not widely available but I think you get more chips in that tournament for placing higher on the leaderboards.
Below is all the information. There is quite a bit of info, so read it all. this is the perfect promotion for multi table tournament players. I believe more than one Merge Network site is doing this promotion, but I do not think all of them are. I know Carbon Poker is doing it but Feltstars does not appear to be.

Here’s the formula that we’ll be using to calculate your leaderboard points. Only your top 25 results for the month will count towards your leaderboard score:

– Buy-in for R/A tournaments = prizepool / (Entrants + Rebuys + Addons)
Entrants: The total number of players in the tournament
Position: Your final placing in the tournament

Carbon Poker introduces Snakes and ladders. A cute name for sit and go steps. The rationalization of the name is that you either climb the ladder or you snake down to a lower position. As far as I can tell, these tournaments are exclusive to Carbon Poker on the network. Carbon appears ready to make noise of its own with the signing of Shannon Elizabeth to play poker for them.
‘Snakes and Ladders’ are a special type of tiered sit’n’go where players can win up to $2,000 cash for as little as $1.10 or 110 VIP points.
