888 Poker Introduces 888 Genie

888 Poker has just introduced its webcam wonder girl: 888 Genie. She is a real girl who can be spotted on 888 Poker’s webcam poker tables, the PokerCam tables. If she appears while you’re playing at one of these tables, you can win any number of prizes, including a share of thousands of dollars in cash. The way that 888 Genie gives away her prizes is by challenging players at the PokerCam tables to different mini-games.

The mini-games that 888 Genie may challenge you to play were invited by various 888 Poker members.

Whether you’re already an 888 Poker member or not, you can observe the 888 Genie in action via 888 Genie TV, a YouTube channel presenting some of the 888 Genie’s finest moments, including mini-games, surprise appearances and more. Earn Double VIP Points And A Fat Stack At Carbon Poker

This November, you can earn double the VIP points and a fat stack at Carbon Poker in two separate promotions: 2X VIP Points November and Fat Stack & Slim Stack Tourneys.

2X VIP Points November is similar to last month’s 2X VIP Points October. Lasting the entire month, in this case November 1 – 30, 2011, the promotion awards opted-in players twice the VIP points they would ordinarily earn while playing at cash ring games, multi-table tournaments and Sit and Go tournaments at Carbon Poker during the hours of 00:00 on Mondays through 23:59 on Tuesdays, server time.

Before playing during these times, before to first opt-in to the promotion through your Carbon Poker player admin area using the Activate Promo button. Bonus points will be calculated the day after earning them, by 2 am server time. These points may be used for VIP-points-for-cash trades, merchandise from the Carbon Poker VIP store and tournament tickets. They will not, however, be used to determine what VIP tier Carbon Poker will place you into for December.

Meanwhile, at Carbon Poker, a new type of tournament has been added to the regular line-up, or in actuality, two new tournament types, both of which are rake-free. As of November 4, 2011, Carbon Poker has added to its regular tournament schedule two weekly Fat Stack tournaments, one with a $2 buy-in and one with a $5 buy-in, both with $1 million starting stacks and $25K/$50K starting stacks. The site has also added two weekly Slim Stack tournaments with the same buy-in options, these with 10 chip starting stacks $0.50/$1 starting blinds.

Carbon Poker Holds $10,000 Chip King Freerolls This November

This November, Carbon Poker is holding a series of freeroll tournaments called Chip King Freerolls with a guaranteed prize pool of $10,000.

The Carbon Poker Chip King promotion starts November 1, 2011 with the first weekly freeroll taking place on Saturday, November 6. From there, every Saturday another freeroll will be held with the only entry requirements being that the interested players opt-in to the $10K Chip King Freeroll promotion at the Carbon Poker Player Admin control panel using the Activate Promo button. To qualify you also have to earn at least 50 VIP points during the month, but that gains you entry into all 4 of the month’s freerolls.

The Chip King Freeroll prize pool increases as the month progresses. For the November 6th freeroll, the prize pool was $1,000. For the second week’s freeroll, held on November 13, the prize pool is $1,500. The qualification period for this event is November 1 – 11. Week three has a qualification period of November 1 – 18 and the freeroll on November 20 has a $2,500 prize pool. The last freeroll of this month’s Chip King promotion takes place on November 27 featuring a $5,000 prize pool. With a qualification period from November 1 – 25, this event is only for the fifty top VIP points earners. Carbon Poker will keep a leaderboard throughout the month tracking players’ progress in earning VIP points to see who will make it to the $5,000 Top 50 Chip King Final.

Each freeroll starts at 16:00 and players’ starting stacks are customized in accordance with their VIP points earned by that time. For example, if you earn 50 – 99.9 VIP points, you start out with 250 chips, while if you earn over 500 – 999.9 VIP points, you start out with 1,000 chips.

PokerStars Introduces Red Spade Open Online Poker Event

PokerStars is now offering another $1 million guaranteed tournament in the form of the Red Spade Open Online Poker Event. Taking place in the form of a $55 buy-in NL Holdem event, the Red Spade Open

The reason the event is called the Red Spade Open is because it’s also a bounty tournament, with bounties of $100 a piece on the seats of certain members of PokerStars pro and online teams demarcated by a red spade symbol beside their name. Cash in from bounties independent of whether you cash in the actual event.

The PokerStars Red Spade Open Online Poker Event takes place on Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 pm ET. This will take the time slot of the weekly PokerStars Bigger $55 Tourney that normally happens at this time slot and will return as of the Sunday of the week following, November 27. The Red Spade Open boasts a $1 million guaranteed prize pool with a guaranteed first prize of at least $200,000.

Besides paying the $55 direct buy-in, there are several other ways to get a seat in the Red Spade Open. You can enter satellites for the event running around the clock for buy-ins as low as $1.10. Or you can purchase your seat with Frequent Player Points from the VIP Store. Cost depends on your status in the PokerStars VIP Club, but you could land yourself a seat in the event for as little as 3,100 FPP.

Cake Poker Revives Turbo Gold Cards in November

Every month Cake Poker issues a new Gold Cards set and creates a fresh new Match & Win Game board to apply them to for winning cash and other prizes. For some of those months, Cake Poker holds a Turbo Gold Cards promotion giving players the chance to accumulate those invaluable cards at an even quicker rate. This November of 2011 is one such month.

Turbo Gold Cards hours, during which Cake Poker will release Gold Cards at twice the rate it otherwise does, are 06:00 to 08:00 GMT, 14:00 to 16:00 GMT and 20:00 to 22:00 GMT.

Win prizes in the Match and Win game by matching Gold Cards in your hand to specific Gold Cards or combinations of them on the Match and Win game board. This will earn you entries into various freeroll tournaments totalling $10,000 in value. You can also sell Gold Cards at the CakePoker Exchance, kind of like a stock exchange for Gold Cards. The only thing is you can’t use Gold Cards you purchase at The Exchance for the Match and Win game board.

Cake Poker players receive Gold Cards while playing raked hands in cash tables. Gold Cards are not distributed at CakePoker’s tournaments, although Gold Chips are. Gold Chips are not eligible, however, for use on the Match and Win game board.

The Match & Win game board for November of 2011 can be found in the Cake Poker software under Rewards and then Gold Cards. Only Gold Cards earned between November 1 and 30 are eligible for prizes on the November, 2011 Match and Win game board.

Party Poker WPT Ireland Satellites Begin

Party Poker is one of the primary sponsors of the World Poker Tour and as such holds satellite series’ for most of its major tournaments. The latest addition to the Party Poker WPT satellite series is WPT Ireland.

Running from November 7 through December 18, 2011, the Party Poker WPT Ireland satellite series includes daily freerolls and cash satellite qualifiers for as little as $1. The series culminates in a weekly WPT Ireland Satellite where 1 seat at the WPT Ireland main event is guaranteed, with more prize package awards likely.

Each Party Poker WPT Ireland prize package is valued at $6,000 and includes the $3,600 buy-in into the main event as well as $1,400 in spending cash, hotel accommodations throughout the stay with breakfast and dinner included and Party Poker’s world famous hospitality. Party Poker will award one of these $6K prize packages to 1 in 20 competitors in its weekly WPT Ireland Satellite, taking place every Sunday at 2:20 pm ET, with a $320 direct buy-in.

You can avoid the direct buy-in by winning a seat through a $33 satellite qualifier. These take place twice every day but Sundays when it takes place once in the form of a Turbo tournament. You can also win seats in this event via a $4 speed sub qualifier or a $1 speed sub qualifier with a rebuy. Finally, you can avoid paying buy-ins into this series altogether by first winning one of Party Poker’s daily WPT Ireland freerolls. These give out seats in the $1 rebuy sub qualifier.

Las Vegas Casinos and Bwin.Party To Join Forces?

The big time news just keeps coming recently, and this time it is a potential combo punch between two of the biggest casino operations and the largest online gambling operation.  MGM Resorts International has decided to pair with Boyd Gaming Corporation AND Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment to make a three headed online poker operation in the United States if online poker becomes legalized in the US.  The exact aspects of the deal haven’t been finalized, but it looks like it would benefit the online poker giant Bwin.Party the most, with Boyd Gaming owning 10%, MGM owning 25%, and Bwin.Party owning all the rest of the operation.

Of course, the entire deal depends on what happens with online poker in the United States in the upcoming years.  This really helps out both sides of the deal overall though, because MGM and Boyd will benefit quite a bit from using the Bwin.Party software, and for Bwin; it will get them almost instant entry into the United States gambling market once/if it becomes legalized.  This is huge news for all three, and news that could expand business for them in the future.

Back in 2006, Bwin went along with another online poker company in PartyGaming when they decided to not allow United States based players to play on their site.  One thing that many people actually don’t know about Bwin.Party is that they are the owners of the World Poker Tour as well, so they have been around in the live poker world for a bit now.  This deal has a few issues that the sides will need to deal with, and of course the biggest one of all is figuring out if online poker will even be allowed in the US after Black Friday.

Assuming that online poker does end up legal in the US, this has the potential to be huge for not only the companies, but also for online poker players in general.  The three headed monster between Boyd, Bwin.Party, and MGM has the potential to be massive, and also give players many reasons to join whatever online poker site the three end up creating.

America’s Cardroom Gears Up for Online Super Series Across America 2011

America’s Cardroom is gearing up for its Online Super Series, otherwise known as Across 2011. It takes place November 29 through December 4, 2011 and promises $150,000 in guaranteed prizes, including cold hard cash, and featuring a main event with a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.


In all, America’s Cardroom will be hosting 19 events over the course of 6 days in the 2011 Online Super Series, including events in both Texas Hold’em and Omaha. There will also be a warm-up tournament with a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool taking place on Thanksgiving itself. In addition, players can look forward to a variety of contests awarding cash, FPPs and tournament seats also peppered throughout the series.


Buy-ins for Across 2011 seats range from $3.30 to $109, except for a few events that only allow buy-ins in frequent player points, 550 FPPs to be exact. This includes the $500 guaranteed opening event and a $1,000 rebuy/add-on event.


As an added treat, the main event is actually the 18th of 19 events, with a sepcial Last Chance Turbo NLH Deep Stack event taking place after the 4:05 pm ET main event on Sunday, December 4 at 7:05 pm ET.


In addition to the $25K Warm-Up Event Bonus, the other contests that are part of the Across 2011 Online Super Series at Americas Cardroom includes the Kings of Cashing, awarding seats in the $15,000 guaranteed deep stack Sunday event to the top 10 highest cashers in the series, a Multiple Cashes Bonus of seats in a special $1,000 freeroll event for everyone who cashes in a minimum of two events, and a Bubble Boy Bonus will refund the buy-in, either in cash or FPPs as applies, to anyone who finishes on the bubble.

	


	
	






			
	

		
Bwin Poker Invites Players Into the Ring

Bwin Poker is inviting all its fiercest players to show off your class and step into the ring. No, not a cash ring game. A boxing ring. Its the Bwin Poker Contender contest and it offers are comers-on the chance to win a share of up to $20,000.


Players earn market points by playing as normal at Bwin Poker’s cash games and tournaments. Earn at least 100 of those market points and you place yourself in a weight class, Flyweight through Heavyweight. Each weight class offers its members a seat in an exclusive freeroll tournament. Players advance to higher weight classes by earning target numbers of market points. The higher the market points, the higher the weight class, the higher the prize pool for the associated freeroll tournament.


The flyweight class, for 100 points, offers seats in a $1,000 freeroll while the heavyweight class, which takes 75,000 points to achieve, awards seats in a $20,000 freeroll. In between those are featherweight for 1,500 points and a $1,500 freeroll seat, welterweight for 5,000 points and a $2,500 freeroll seat, middleweight for 15,000 points and a $5,000 freeroll seat, and cruiserweight for 30,000 points and a $10,000 freeroll seat.


Players will only win seats in the highest valued freeroll for which they are eligible. All freerolls will takes place on the second Saturday of the following month at 18:00 GMT+1.
