Latest 26-Day Endurance Challenge Launched at Intertops Poker

Last Updated on

Intertops Poker has brought back its 26-Day Endurance Challenge for another go-round. This time the promotional period is from March 1- 27, 2012. And as in events past, all a player has to do to win prizes in this incarnation of the Intertops 26-Day Endurance Challenge is keep accumulating FPP (Frequent Player Points) as they usually do by playing in cash games and real money tournaments at the Intertops Poker site.

Players can earn seats in one of three freeroll tournaments taking place on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 22:59 GMT (or 18:59 EST): either a $750 freeroll, a $1,000 freeroll or a $1,500 freeroll.

After earning their freeroll seat, players can then earn cash prizes of at least $3 and up to $42 by meeting even higher milestones, either by earning more points per day on each of the days they play, or by earning the same number of points daily but for a greater number of days.

In either case, players have from 04:00 GMT on March 1 to 03:59 on March 27 to earn as many points daily over as many days as they can to earn the highest cash and freeroll prizes they can. Earn at least 14 points daily on at least 5 days of the challenge and get that $750 freeroll seat. Earn those 14 points daily for 10 days and get a seat in the $1,000 freeroll. And do it for at least 15 days and get that $1,500 freeroll seat.

To get the maximum cash prize of $42, you must earn 224 points daily for 20 days of the challenge.

Party Poker Gladiator Promotion Returns

Last Updated on

The Gladiator promotion returns to Party Poker this merry month of March, 2012. Running March 1 – 31, the Party Poker Gladiator promotion allows players to win prizes without having to compete against other players to do it. Instead players compete only against themselves and the clock, trying to earn as many points as they can over as many days of the month as they can to win an increasing value in prizes.

All you have to earn in order to win a prize in this latest Gladiator promotion is 1 point per day over at least 5 days of the promotion. That will earn you a ticket into a $500 freeroll tournament. The milestones and freeroll prize pools increase from there to the highest valued freeroll, worth $25,000.

After those milestones, players start earning cash, with the minimum $10 going to those who earn 5 points per day over 25 days. Cash prizes go up from there to $4,000.

Players are awarded the maximum freeroll and maximum cash prize for which they are eligible. In other words, prizes are not cumulative. That means, players can win up to $4,000 in cash, and anyone who wins a cash prize also wins a seat in the $25,000 freeroll. Players only win seats in one freeroll, that being the highest value event for which they qualify.

What’s more, if a player can manage to earn 1,200 points per day for 30 of the 31 days of the promotion, they also win an $8,000 prize package into a World Poker Tour event of their choice, with the alternative option of $5,000 in cash.

888 Poker WSOP Main Event 2012 Qualifiers On Now

Last Updated on

888 Poker has begun its qualifier series for the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 888 Poker WSOP 2012 Qualifier Series features weekly qualifier tournaments every alternating Sunday, starting promptly at 20:05 GMT, for a direct buy-in of $500 + $25.

Players can avoid that $525 buy-in, however, by winning their way to that event through a series of smaller satellites with buy-ins as low as $1.10.

It starts with WSOP Step 1 qualifiers, with a player’s choice of $1 + $0.10 rebuy/add-on events, taking place daily every 2 hours and awarding one Step 2 qualifier seat for every $25 in the prize pool, or a $5 + $0.50 with no rebuy or add-on, taking place 3 times weekly and from which 1 of every 5 players will advance to Step 2.

The Step 2 qualifier has a $23 + $2 direct buy-in and also takes place thrice weekly and advances one 1 in 5 to the next step. That would be Step 3, with its own $105 + $10 direct buy-in, taking place three times a week and advancing 1 in 5 to the final WSOP Qualifier.

Each qualifier winner receives a prize package valued at $15,000 that includes the $10,000 WSOP Main Event buy-in as well as $2,000 for travel expenses, $500 in spending cash, 8 nights of hotel accommodations in Vegas, exclusive access to the 888 Poker player’s lounge, with pool table, XBox, TV, drinks all day long and breakfast, as well as an 888 Poker Live Event merchandise kit and a special invite to a VIP event.

PokerStars Ups Their Game for 6th Anniversary of Sunday Million

Last Updated on

PokerstarsPokerStars is one of the best online poker sites for their many promotions and guaranteed tournaments as well.  Some of the biggest professional poker players who focus on tournaments play on Stars, mainly for their excellent guarantees and huge tournaments almost every day of the week.  The biggest day is of course Sunday though, which is widely considered as the most popular day for online poker as well.  This March though, they have decided to run another special tournament which will be the 6th Anniversary Sunday Million Tournament, and it’s an event that should draw an incredible sized field as well.

The tournament is set to run on March 11, 2012 and starts at the standard time of the Sunday Million, which is 2:30pm EST.  The thing that is most intriguing to the players on this massive online poker site, is that they have decided to raise the guarantee on the event for the players.  Instead of a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, PokerStars has upped it to $6 million for the anniversary, and the buy-in will still be the same.  The Sunday Million costs $215 to play in for players.

Last year, PokerStars ran a similar promotion for the 5th Anniversary Sunday Million, but this was indeed before Black Friday hit the United States market.  The prize pool last year was $10 million guaranteed, but the field was so massive that the total buy-in’s actually went past that guarantee, and the total prize pool ended up being $11,825,600 when all was said and done.  Last year’s total number of entrants were 59,128, and the prize pool ended up being one of the largest in history as well.  We don’t assume that this year’s event will be nearly as big, since Black Friday put a hit on everyone in the online poker world, but it’s definitely interesting to see what type of results the site will get in terms of total entrants.

A bit of background on the Sunday Million, as it was first ran back in 2006 on March 6th, and the player who took down the event was Daryl Jace.  Interestingly, Jace’s online poker name at that point was “aaaaaaaa”, and his win was the first in a Sunday Million that has featured 278 total events.

Cake Poker Holds $100,000 Points Race

Last Updated on

For the month of March 2012, Cake Poker is holding a special $100,000 Points Race in which players can earn cash prizes of up to $7,500 a piece. More than 1,500 cash prizes in all are up for grabs.

There are five races in all, each with a $20,000 prize pool. Four of these five $20k races are weekly events, paying out the top 350 FPP earners. And one of these is a $20k monthly race, also paying out the top 350 FPP earners. The maximum prize a player can earn in any of these 5 periods is $1,500, making the combined total potential per player winning $7,500.

Players earn points in the race by accumulating FPPs (Frequent Player Points) with each FPP equal to one point in the race. Players entering late in a given week will still have as much chance to win big in this promotion as any other player, with the value from each weekly race’s points tally added to the player’s monthly points tally for the monthly race.

Players earn FPPs at both Cake Poker’s ring games and tournament tables at a rate of 1 FPP per $1 in rake at the ring game tables or 7 FPPs for every $1 in tournament fees paid.

The first place finisher in each race gets the $1,500 top prize. The runner-up then gets $1,000 with the third place finisher getting $750; fourth getting $500 and fifth getting $400, down to the 301th through 350th place finishers, each of whom will receive $15.
