Black Diamond Poker Open From Bovada

Last Updated on

Bovada is quickly becoming one of the more talked about online poker sites for United States poker players these days, and it’s for good reason.  They offer some great online poker action all over the place, including cash games and great poker tournaments as well.  One thing that currently stands out at Bovada poker is their Black Diamond Poker Open.  This is a tournament series that the site is running, and it is one that should dominate anything that has run on their site in the past as well!  It’ll be made up of some big prize pools and have two main events as well.

There are two different series at the Black Diamond Open, which include the Contender Series and the Championship Series, which are made up of different size buy-ins and different size prize pools as well.  The “Contender Series” features buy-ins that are more for recreational players to mid-level players, and it will have a  Main Event that features a $25k guarantee, which will be played in the middle of March on the 18th.  In total the guaranteed prize pools for this series are made up of around $100k in total prize throughout the series!

As far as the Bovada Poker Championship Series goes, this will start just after the Contender Series.  These events are for the mid-level to high stakes poker players, and the Main Event for this series features a $250k guarantee as well.  This event will give first place at least a $50k prize and a nice watch worth $5k as well, and the tournament will take place on the 1st of April.

One of the best parts about this event is the fact that people can also win their way into many of the events for as little as $1 through the many satellites that Bovada will be offering.  On top of that though, there are also things called “Super Satellite Days” that happen just before each of the two Main Events.  These are great ways to be able to get into the big time buy-in tournaments with huge prize pools, without having to pay the full buy-in for the event!

Bovada Adds $15,000 in Freerolls to Monthly Calendar

Last Updated on

Players at Bovada Poker now have a chance to win a share of $7,500 twice each month. And more, that opportunity comes free of charge. It’s all part of Bovada Poker’s newest ongoing promotion, aptly titled: 15k in Monthly Freerolls

In recent posts, we’ve alerted you to numerous big money-winning opportunities at Bovada Poker, including the Cash PerSuit for the site’s cash ring game players and the $750,000 Guaranteed Bovada Black Diamond Poker Open, running now through April 1, 2012. Now we’ve got another one for you: this a new regular on the Bovada Poker calendar, a pair of monthly freeroll tournaments each promising $7.5k guaranteed in prize money, for a total of $15k in monthly freeroll tournaments.

Rather than accepting cash to buy into the monthly freerolls or the qualifiers awarding seats in them, BovadaPoker is taking Poker Points, or PTS for short. Each $7.5k freeroll has a 1k PTS buy-in. But players can win seats in a $7.5k freeroll for much less. Pay just 25 PTS and enter a daily turbo qualifier, from which the best 15 will advance to the $7.5k freeroll. For 150 PTS, you can play in a sit and go freeroll qualifier, running around the clock, with 6 players per event. Or pay 200 PTS and enter a turbo qualifier, also from which the best 15 players will advance.

The $7.5k freerolls themselves take place on the second and last Saturdays of the month and twenty percent of the playing field gets paid out.

Who Will Be Bovada Poker’s King of the Felt?

Last Updated on

Of the many traditions carried over from the now-defunct Bodog Poker to the newly launched Bovada Poker is the monthly King of the Felt promotion.

In Bovada Poker’s King of the Felt promotion, as with the original of the Bodog Poker era, players who place in any Sit and Go tourneys at the site earn a chance for a $1,000 prize in a heads-up battle, as well as $2,500 per week in freeroll tourneys. Eligible players must place (that’s finish in 1st or 2nd) and receive payment from three Bovada Poker sit and go tourneys in a week’s time. That will earn you entry into a weekly drawing for the chance to play heads-up against the current king and win the $1,000 prize. Place in any more sit and gos than that and earn seats in the $2,500 worth of King of the Felt freeroll tourneys. The reigning King of the Felt will play heads-up matches against the contender who wins the raffle drawing each week until, ultimately, unseated, each time winning the $1,000 prize. If a Bovada Poker King of the Felt can win 10 of these heads-up matches in a row, then in addition to the $10,000 in cash that will have won him, he’ll also win a seat in the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event.

The more times you qualify for an entry in any given week’s contest, the more entries you earn. Each week’s King of the Felt drawing is held at Bovada Poker on the Monday following it.

US Players Now Have Bovada Instead of Bodog

Last Updated on

bovada pokerThe talks about Bodog leaving the US market come January were flying all over the internet, but the real story isn’t so much that Bodog will be leaving the US market; but that the NAME Bodog will be leaving the US market.  Bovada is the new option for United States based gamblers, and what’s interesting about the new site, is that it’s actually almost the EXACT same as Bodog, just with a new name.  This new site is up and running for US players, and even if an online gambler from the United States attempts to go to Bodog, they will be re-routed to Bovada, and have a message explaining why this happened.

The site is under Bovada.lv, and the .lv stands for Latvia.  No one is exactly sure as to why they didn’t choose to go with the popular .co or .ag that US players have found themselves used to seeing after Black Friday occurred.  Possibly the best part about Bovada is something that we’ve already mentioned, that they will still have the exact same promotions and games available for their players.  What this means is that players can still do all of their sports betting, play online poker, and play at the casino tables the same way that they did on Bodog.  The feel of the site is the exact same, but overall players will feel incredible comfortable and confident playing at this new site.

So for any United States based players who are looking to continue their action or simply looking for a new online gambling site that offers it all, head over to Bovada (or just go to Bodog and they’ll re-direct you automatically) to get in on the action.  Overall, Bovada is simply a new name, but is the same excellent gambling options for players out there.

The real question that many people are asking is why Bodog decided to make this move.  The easiest answer to that is the answer that many other online gambling sites used for making changes, and it’s simply because they want to avoid run-in’s with the US government, or find themselves involved in any issues such as Black Friday.
