BlackChip Poker Moving to Winning Poker Network

Last Updated on

BlackChip Poker has announced that they are leaving the Merge Poker Network and will move to the Winning Poker Network.  Winning, formerly Yatahay, already hosts the popular Americas Cardroom.  This announcement comes on the heels of BlackChip abruptly pulling out of the Merge Network Poker Maximus series.  BlackChip Poker posted a brief statement on their Facebook page moments ago.  Below is the full text of that statement.

We’re pleased to announce that on Monday we’ll be moving to the Winning Poker Network. WPN have a reputation for providing the best payouts and customer service of any US-facing network, and we felt this move would be beneficial for our players and partners.
We look forward to providing the level of service our players and affiliates have come to expect from us over the last few years.

Just to clarify a few points:

1) p2p transfers will be available again next week (after the move);
2) It will be necessary for players to be verified by WPN, regardless of whether or not they’ve previously been verified by Merge. We will email players who have a pending withdrawal on Monday to explain how they can go about this to ensure they’re paid as quickly as possible; We’ll be happy to answer any operational questions, but please understand that we’re keen to look towards a positive future. We know payouts are a top priority for those who have been waiting and these will be expedited once the move is complete. Any queries should be directed to vip@blackchippoker.eu

We look forward to a great future on the Winning Poker Network.

Bad Beats Pay Off With America’s Cardroom Jackpot

Last Updated on

Getting a bad beat at the online poker table doesn’t have to be a dreaded occurence. Not when the poker table is at America’s Cardroom. And not when the bad beat is eligible for the site’s progressive Bad Beat Jackpot.

Put simply, a bad beat is a hand that shouldn’t have lost, but did. To qualify as a bad beat in America’s Cardroom’s book, that hand must be at least four-of-a-kind 8s or higher and it must lose. Also to qualify, both of the player’s hole cards must be used in order to make the qualifying hand.

When the bad beat jackpot is hit, America’s Cardroom pays out 30% of it to the person who hit the jackpot (i.e. the one holding the bad beat hand), 20% of it to the hand’s winner, and divides 10% among the remaining players at the table (provided the eligible players have participated in at least one hand where a contribution was made to the bad beat jackpot). Then 30% of it is used to reseed the next bad beat jackpot and 10% of it goes to the house.

Players must be playing on jackpot tables in order to be eligible for the bad beat jackpot. At every Texas Hold’em table that is marked in the Americas Cardroom lobby with Jackpot and which has at least 4 active players dealt into a hand, a Jackpot fee will be taken by the house to feed the Bad Beat Jackpot and The Beast. That fee is $0.33 for games at table stakes of $2/$4 or higher and $0.08 for everything lower.

Last Week to Win $50K Dream Car at Americas Cardroom

Last Updated on

There’s one week left to try to win a $50,000 car of your dreams from America’s Cardroom in the Rank Point Overdrive promotion. It’s been going on for months now and it’s hard to believe it’s almost over, but on the fast approaching deadline of Saturday, December 1, 2012 if no player has yet achieved the milestone mark of earning 3 million rank points the promised reward will be forfeited.

That promised reward is a dream car of the winner’s choice worth up to $50,000 (or the cash equivalent!)

What’s more, you don’t have to cash in those rank points in order to win the prize. So you can still use them to climb the ranks in the America’s Cardroom Elite Benefits program. Players earn rank points at all real money tables at America’s Cardroom, both cash games and tournaments. Players earn rank points at tournaments at a rate of 5.5 rank points for every $1 paid in tournament fees. In cash games, America’s Cardroom awards rank points at a rate of 5.5 rank points for every $1 in rake the site collects from each hand with those total rank points divided evenly among all the participants in the hand.

Players can earn rank points faster than ever at The Beast jackpot tables, the site’s progressive rake race, the world’s first of its kind. Then there are regular cash tables at all stakes levels so you can stay within your bankroll by climbing closer toward winning that dream car.

Certain promotional terms and conditions apply so be sure to read all the details on the America’s Cardroom site.

Americas Cardroom Mini Online Super Series Coming Up

Last Updated on

Americas Cardroom’s first ever Mini Online Super Series (aka MOSS) is almost here: coming Thursday November 15th and running through Monday, November 19th and promising over $67,000 in total guaranteed prize pool money.

Tournament buy-ins in the Americas Cardroom Mini Online Super Series run from $0.10 to $2 for guaranteed prize pools of $1,000 to $10,000 every day of the series. Buy-ins can also be paid in Americas Cardroom combat points instead of cash.

In addition to the regular prize pools for each tournament in the Mini Online Super Series, every event will also be a bounty tournament, giving players additional chances to win money for playing by knocking out one of the two players — Dusty Schmidt (aka Leatherass9) and MamaCoolJ, winner of The Beast last month — who will be competing in every event. Whoever knocks one of those players out of the event will win a $25 cash prize, regardless of how they finish in the event.

Every day of the 5-day series features 3 MOSS events:
•    a $1,000 GTD with a $300 first prize for only $0.11 or 7.26 CP
•    a $2,500 GTD with a $750 first prize for only $0.27 or 17.82 CP
•    a $10,000 GTD with a $3,000 first prize for only $2.20 or 145.2 CP

There are also four leaderboard competitions running during the Mini Online Super Series: 1 for each of the 3 daily MOSS tournaments and a fourth leaderboard tracking players’ overall progress across all MOSS events. The winner from each leaderboard receives an exclusive invite to a 4-seater tournament with a $1,000 guaranteed prize pool and a guaranteed $500 first prize.

Next Americas Cardroom Best $50K Guarantee Tournament: November 11

Last Updated on

This coming Sunday, November 11, America’s Cardroom will host its next The Beast $50K Guarantee Tournament, an event that always promises a “monster prize pool” for a comparatively tiny buy-in.

It costs only $50 + $5 to buy-in to The Beast $50K Guarantee tournament and try for a share of a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. The event takes place Sunday, November 11th starting at 6 pm ET. And this is a $50K added tournament, to boot, which means that that amount is on top of the prize pool organically derived from player buy-ins, making the potential prize pool much larger still.

In addition to players who buy-in directly the 539 players who participated in The Beast jackpot tables in the month of October 2012 and ranked on the leaderboard automatically earned a free seat in the The Beast $50K Guarantee tournament.

And this event will not replace the regular Sunday $50K Guaranteed tournament that takes place every Sunday starting at 7 pm ET at America’s Cardroom, making for back-to-back $50K guaranteed tournaments to enter.

Players can also win seats in The Beast $50K Guarantee through satellite tournaments going on now at Americas Cardroom. The Beast $50K Satellite with 2 seats GTD in the tournament takes place daily at 6:35 pm ET for only a $7 + $0.70 buy-in. Players can win seats in that event through The Beast $50K Super Satellites, taking place daily every hour at 5 past the hour for $0.25 + $0.02 buy-in, each of which awards 2 seats GTD in The Beast $50K Satellite.

Final Month To Win Dream Car In Americas Cardroom’s Rank Point Overdrive

Last Updated on

November is the final month of Americas Cardroom’s Rank Point Overdrive promotion in which players try to win a $50,000 dream car.

Only one dream car is up for grabs in this promotion and it has yet to be claimed. The first player at Americas Cardroom to earn 3,000,000 rank points (that’s 3 million) will win their choice of dream car worth up to $50,000 in value. The rules are simple: you must be the first to meet that benchmark and you must do it before December 1st, 2012.

That makes November 2012 the final countdown to see whether anyone at all will walk away from this promotion the winner of a brand new car of their dreams.

All the rank points players earn in this promotion are still valid for benefits in America’s Cardroom’s Elite Benefits program, so trying to win the car, despite failing, still comes with its own rewards.

Except in The Beast tournaments where players can earn rank points even faster, players earn rank points at Americas Cardroom’s cash tables and tournaments at a rate of 5.5 rank points for every $1 contributed to the rake taken from each cash game pot or every $1 paid in tournament fees (the number after the “+” sign in a tournament buy-in: e.g. the $3 in $30 + $3). P.S. for all you cash game players–Americas Cardroom uses the Dealt Rake method of calculating rake, which means that as long as you were dealt cards in a hand, you earn equal credit for the rake taken from that hand, even if you fold before the flop.

Americas Cardroom Adds Beast $50K GTD

Last Updated on

The ongoing Beast promotion at Americas Cardroom just got a little more beastly, with a new $50k guaranteed tournament called The Beast $50k Guarantee.

Taking place on Sunday, October 14, 2012, America’s Cardroom is holding a special Hold’em tournament with a $50k guaranteed prize pool, and that’s in addition to – not instead of – its existing $50k Sunday guarantee tournament.

The Beast $50k takes place Sunday, October 14 at 6:00 pm ET for a $50 + $5 buy-in. Expect the player pool to be absolutely monstrous at this event, with 578 players already registered by simple virtue of playing at The Beast Jackpot Tables this past September and ranked on the event’s special leaderboard (one way to get in on The Beast $50k.)

Players can alternatively get in on The Beast $50k for a lot less by winning their seat in a satellite with 2 seats guaranteed to be awarded to the event. These take place daily at 6:35 pm for a $7 + $0.70 buy-in. There’s also a super satellite awarding 2 seats guaranteed into the direct satellite. These take place very hour at 5 minutes after the hour for a buy-in of $0.25 + $0.02.

The standard $50k guarantee tourmament that already takes place every Sunday at Americas Cardroom takes place at 7:00 pm ET, one hour after The Beast $50k guarantee starts. That means players can theoretically multi-table in these two tournaments and play for a $100k prize pool on this particularly beastly Sunday.
