888 Poker is now holding a promotion it calls the Knights of Prague, in which the most successful contenders will walk away with an $1,800 prize package into the second annual 888poker Prague Championship, to be held from December 6 to 9, 2013 in Prague, Czech Republic.

There are two ways to win a seat in the 888poker Prague Championship II: either by playing your way up through a series of satellite tournaments, or you can skip straight to the qualifier itself.

The satellite series into the 888poker Prague Championship II Qualifier starts with a Step 1 event that has a $0.90 + $0.10 buy-in. It’s a rebuy and add-on event and awards a seat in Step 2 for every $11 in the prize pool. It takes place every day, every 3 hours. The Step 2 event has a $10 + $1 buy-in and allows one 2nd chance rebuy. It takes place daily and awards a seat in the qualifier for every $200 in the prize pool.

The 888poker Prague Championship II Qualifier takes place once every other Saturday for a buy-in of $180 + $20 and awards one $1,800 prize package at each event.

888 Poker Announces Aussie Millions 2012 Satellites

The latest poker site to offer satellite tournaments into the 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship is 888 Poker. This will mark the 10th anniversary of the Aussie Millions, and the total prize pool is currently estimated to be around AUD $22 million.

The 888 Poker Aussie Millions Qualifier takes place on January 7, 2012 at 09:00 GMT (or 8:00 pm EDT) and has a $500 + $25 direct buy-in. At this event, a minimum of two seats in the 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship will be awarded, each worth AUD $10,600. Registration for this event is now open and can be found under the “Live Events” and “All” tabs in your 888 Poker tournamnet lobby.

Players can avoid paying the $525 direct buy-in into the Aussie Milions Qualifier, however, by winning their way into the event via cheaper satellite tournaments. Buy-ins for these satellites start at just $1.10.

The 2012 Aussie Millions will take place January 22 – 28, 2012 at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia.

As always with any 888 Poker qualifier tournament, all the usual site terms and conditions and privacy policy apply. The prize for this event is a seat in the Aussie Millions 2012 main event only. Qualifier winners themselves are responsible for getting themselves to Australia for the event and for arranging and paying for their stay while there for the tournament. 888 Poker has launched a huge Super Stack event that plans to launch players into big winnings at some of the UK and Australia’s most famous land-based casinos in some of the world’s most exotic gambling locations. Qualifiers are taking place at 888Poker now for tickets into these live offline events worth £165/AUD $300 and a possible share of a £/AUD $15,000 prize pool.

For the London event to be held at the London Mint Casino, 888 Poker is holding qualifiers every Monday at 18:30 GMT for a $10 + $1 R/A buy-in, with 10 seats in the offline event guaranteed at each. For the Birmingham event to be held at the Circus Casino in Star City, qualifiers will take place every Thursday, also at 18:30 GMT, also for a $10 + $1 R/A buy-in and also with 10 seats guaranteed. The Australia event will take place at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, with qualifiers taking place every Thursday at 20:00 AEST for a $15 + $1.50 R/A buy-in with 3 seats in the offline event guaranteed at each.

888 Poker is also holding satellite tournaments into these various super stack qualifiers. The schedules, buy-ins and guarantees vary depending on the event, with the Melbourne satellite costing slightly more and occuring slightly less often.

888 Poker Welcomes Santiago Canizares With Four Poker Challenges

The newest pro player to be signed by 888 Poker is not a poker pro but a Spanish football pro, Santiago Canizares, player in three FIFA World Cup tournaments and 4 UEFA European Football Championship series’. But just because he’s not a poker pro, doesn’t mean he’s not a fierce poker player. In fact, to prove his poker mettle, Santiago Canizares will be heading up four poker challenges coming up at 888 Poker over the next several weeks.

The first takes place on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 and is called the Canizares Bounty Challenge. It starts at 19:00 GMT and features a low $1 buy-in. The prize pool is $500, plus there’s an extra $100 bounty going to the player who knocks Canizares out of the tournament. There will be a second Canizares Bounty Challenge taking place on August 3 in the same time slot.

The other pair of big challenges featuring this legend of football is the Canizares PokerCam Challenge, taking place Thursday, July 28 at 19:00 GMT. This event has a 5-cent plus 10-cent buy-in ($0.05 + $0.10). No guaranteed prize pool is listed, but players will at least be guaranteed to be sitting in front of their webcams at the same tournament where Santiago Canizares will also be sitting in front of his webcam. Scope out his tells if you dare. A second Canizres PokerCam Challenge will take place at the same time on Thursday, August 11.
