In addition to all the usual tournament excitement taking place over at 888 Poker, there’s also a collection of specialty tournaments players have to choose from whenever they like as well. In 888 Poker’s Double or Nothing Tournaments, half of the players walk away with double their money. These are fast-paced, high-action sit and go events where between 8 and 10 players duke it out at the online poker table until 4 to 5 (depending) remain. 888 Poker Starts 2012 WSOP Satellites

With the start of 2012 comes the anticipation for the 2012 World Series of Poker. And 888 Poker is wasting no time in pooling players to send to the next WSOP Main Event.

Every other Sunday, 888 Poker holds a 2012 WSOP qualifier at 20:05 GMT. The buy-in is $500 + $25.

Players can avoid that direct buy-in and win their way into the qualifier through any number of lower cost satellites. Satellite buy-ins start at just $1 + $0.10 where one player for every $25 in the prize pool will advance to the next stage. There’s also a $5 + $0.50 stage 1 event that advances one in five players to the next stage.

Step 2 satellites cost $23 + $2 to buy-in directly and advance 1 in 5 players to step 3, which in turn costs $105 + $10 to buy-in directly and advances 1 in 5 players to the 2012 WSOP 888 Poker Qualifier.

At each 888 Poker World Series of Poker 2012 Qualifier, one prize package worth $15,000 will be awarded. That value includes the $10,000 buy-in for the 2012 WSOP Main Event, $2,000 cash to apply toward travel expenses, $500 more in cash to apply toward other expenses, 8 nights of accommodations during the event, access to a special 888 Poker player lounge, an invite to a special 888 Poker VIP party, and an 888 Poker live event merchandise kit.

The prize pool for the 2012 WSOP Main Event is projected to be around $180 million.

888 Poker Spearheads Super 2012 Event Qualifier Action

888 Poker was the first the online poker site to offer qualifiers into the upcoming 2012 Super Poker Event of Europe. The event, which takes place in Dublin, Ireland between February 25 and 26, expects to attract 4,000 players for the largest playing field ever in a live, land-based poker tournament event in Europe. It features a €1.2 million estimated prizepool based on a buy-in of €300 + €48.40. Players can get in on the action for much less, however, through satellites and qualifiers at sites like 888 Poker.

Nightly, 888 Poker is hosting satellites for only a $2 + $0.20 buy-in. This event includes a $2 rebuy opportunity for 1,500 chips, available to anyone who busts out before the break, followed by $2 add-ons of 4,500 chips from then on. These Step 1 satellites take place every night but Thursday night at 19:25 GMT and on Thursday nights at 18:25 GMT. These events offers 1 seat per $22 in the prize pool in the weekly Super Poker Event 2012 qualifier that takes place on Thursday nights at 19:10 GMT for a direct buy-in of $20 + $2. These seat-only qualifiers award entries worth €340 each into the Super 2012 tournament for every $480 in the prize pool. They do not, however, cover any travel or accommodation expenses.

888 Poker Announces Aussie Millions 2012 Satellites

The latest poker site to offer satellite tournaments into the 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship is 888 Poker. This will mark the 10th anniversary of the Aussie Millions, and the total prize pool is currently estimated to be around AUD $22 million.

The 888 Poker Aussie Millions Qualifier takes place on January 7, 2012 at 09:00 GMT (or 8:00 pm EDT) and has a $500 + $25 direct buy-in. At this event, a minimum of two seats in the 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship will be awarded, each worth AUD $10,600. Registration for this event is now open and can be found under the “Live Events” and “All” tabs in your 888 Poker tournamnet lobby.

Players can avoid paying the $525 direct buy-in into the Aussie Milions Qualifier, however, by winning their way into the event via cheaper satellite tournaments. Buy-ins for these satellites start at just $1.10.

The 2012 Aussie Millions will take place January 22 – 28, 2012 at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia.

As always with any 888 Poker qualifier tournament, all the usual site terms and conditions and privacy policy apply. The prize for this event is a seat in the Aussie Millions 2012 main event only. The 888.com Rewards program offers players an increasing array of bonuses as well as ways to increase eligibility for those bonuses.
