New Mystery Online Poker Player Rises

Last Updated on

There’s a new dark knight rising in the online poker world. Last year it was the mysterious Isildur1 only revealed after he racked up million of dollars in wins against many of poker most serious players as Viktor Blom. This year it’s the player with the difficult to pronounce username 1Il|1Il|1il|, nicknamed Barcode for convenience. In fact recently Barcode beat Isildur1 out of $173,000.

Starting out on the scene in late 2011, Barcode suffered a brutal $200,000 loss, but if that’s where his battle ended, you wouldn’t be reading this story. He finished out 2011 $1 million ahead and now, in just October 2012 alone (a month that’s not even over yet) Barcode has won $1.2 million so far, $500k of which he earned in just a single day.

Barcode’s player account is registered in Canada making some prognosticators predict that he is a Canadian, but that conclusion isn’t automatically true. There is no word yet on the mysterious player’s nationality, age or, as it happens, gender either. So while we’ve been saying “he” in talking about 1Il|1Il|1il| he could be a “she”.

Other well-known online poker players to lose big to Barcode include Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky and Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen. Some of the players suspected to be Barcode are Di “trex313” Dang, XBLINK, or even Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

Barcode’s game of choice appears to be Pot Limit Omaha and over the past few weeks he could frequently be found at the $200/$400 PLO tables.
