There are several bits of news out of the state of New Jersey as regards its eagerly awaited launch for legal online gambling.
For one, the state Division of Gaming Enforcement has now expanded the list of companies approved to offer legal online gambling when the launch occurs. This includes new online gaming vendors and the ancillary companies that support them. Of the new online gambling vendors now permitted to operate legally in New Jersey are ooVoo, the video chat company, Proloxic, a DDoS mitigator, iSEC, a security firm, and and individual, Christopher Oukes. As of yet, Poker Stars has still not been added to New Jersey’s permitted Internet gaming vendors list.
The update also includes more companies given a waiver that allows them to engage in online gaming activities as well, these including the Atlantic City casinos Caesars, Tropicana, Bally’s, Trump Taj Mahal, Golden Nugget, Borgata, and Trump Plaza, along with their gaming partners.
In other New Jersey online gambling launch news, the state has decided to postpone allowing deposit bonuses of the kind that involve wagering restrictions on funds until 30 days after New Jersey’s legal online gaming launch date.
Also, New Jersey has added a self-exclusion list to its offerings, with players able in person or online to request a 1 year, 5 year, or lifetime self-exclusion from online gambling within the state. This option is being made available for people who feel they have a gambling problem and need the extra measures in place to support their efforts to avoid and refrain from gambling.
The New Jersey online gaming launch date is November 26, 2013.
