Full Tilt Poker™ Supports Poker Players And Its Chief Executive
Dublin Ireland (April 15, 2011)- Full Tilt Poker is saddened by today’s charges against its CEO Raymond Bitar and offers its full support to Mr. Bitar and Nelson Burtnick.
Online poker is a game of skill enjoyed by tens of millions of people in the United States and across the world. And, Full Tilt Poker remains as committed as ever to preserving the rights of those players to play the game they love online.
Mr. Bitar and Full Tilt Poker believe online poker is legal – a position also taken by some of the best legal minds in the United States. Full Tilt Poker is, and has always been committed to preserving the integrity of the game and abiding by the law.
“I am surprised and disappointed by the government’s decision to bring these charges. I look forward to Mr. Burtnick’s and my exoneration,” said Mr. Bitar.
Unfortunately, as a result of this action, Full Tilt Poker has decided that it must suspend “real money” play in the United States until this case is resolved. However, Full Tilt Poker will continue to provide peer-to-peer online poker services outside of the United States.
Why lock out USA players? The UIGEA part of Safe Port Act, does not make it illegal to play online poker, it makes illegal the electronic transfer of money either to or from online poker sites. Thus the arrest of Neteller owner back in 2006, and that is why Pokerstars and Fulltilt kept allowing USA players to play for real money, their lawyers and experts knew it was not illegal. What changed was the poker sites kept working on electronic ways to transfer money to fake out the US banking institutions, it is questionable how much if any of fake systems online poker sites setup is illegal. Therefore money transferred via mail is still acceptable, unless the FU Obama DOJ is now interpreting any USA bank transaction either electronic or physical check is illegal if that bank accepts the instrument to move cash from a known online gambling institution.
Sooo……how in the Hell can I get my $$$. Can’t even see my real money account.
The systems the companies set up are illegal. They bought and bribed banks in the US to process funds for them. We’ll be posting the entire civil complaint shortly where these actions are described in detail.
Too early to tell. We’ll keep every up to date as we get more information.
I have a withdrawel check coming I hope. If i get the check can I are will I be able to get it cashed
im livid . no reason to stop play in us , still playin everywhere else, other sites r running in usa. i beginning to think fulltilt did this to stop a run on withdrawals, greedy pigs, and the worst bad beats of any site. im mad at fbi and fulltilt and why doesnt ft pay up, own up and get on with business, the guilty should own up, thy judgement is nigh u greedy men, be a man for once and stop being a coward or just go take a long walk off a short pier or better yet go jump off a high place if u cant own up. u greedy filthy rich pigs, PAYDAY is HERE
If it’s legal for all these little Zynga poker app sites and Mafia and other facebook apps to get money for virtual play, why not allow full tilt to stay active? What’s the difference? Also, why can’t it be done on a state by state basis as with all other gambling? I live in Louisiana, we can practically do anything, if Full Tilt paid them taxes they’d legalize it here. Do they pay taxes on the money that goes through the site?
support@fulltiltpoker.co.uk, That’s the email address to request information about your account and your money. Thats where I had to go.
Its not as much about online poker as it is with what they did to process the money.
Full Poker does NOT pay taxes on the money that goes through the site in the US. One of the charges is tax evasion.
Sadly the US govt has a very good case against them.
Only time will tell how this all turns out but for now, players in the US are screwed.
This is stupid ceo’s and so on steal money bla bla bla all the time the fact is that if i wanna threw my money away playing online poker thats my choice and if the rest of the world has it why shoudnt i. ive won ive lost ive got friemds that make a living playing online poker and friends that lost a lot playing online. ive done both but the reason i play online cause its fun if i dont wanna bet real money and can play free no force no gun to my head and im sure that more people get ripped off trying to purchase bs products or answering emails from nigeria with there personal info gimme a break lets ban online poker for the whole us guess some fn politician/s where pissed they wernt gettin there slice bitches
Legalize, tax it and move on. The U.S. seems to be a bit short on money these days. Why turn away easy money?
