In the latest U.S. online poker news, flagship site of the Cake Network of online gaming sites, Cake Poker has now started rerouting all hits from U.S. IP addresses to sister site Juicy Stakes Poker. And all existing Cake Poker accounts still active in the United States will be migrated to Juicy Stakes Poker.
The bad news for U.S. players is this means you can no longer sneak onto Cake Poker. The good news is you can, apparently, do so at Juicy Stakes Poker.
Juicy Stakes Poker, in case you haven’t heard of this relative fledgling poker site, actually offers most of the same guarantees and promotions as Cake Poker. Juicy Stakes Poker recognizes the Gold Chips and Gold Cards rewards programs and allows players to buy and trade them on The Exchange, just like Cake Poker players. (Can they buy and trade them with Cake Poker players is the next question.)
This migration affects players on the Colt, HiLife and Fugu poker sites as well. Once migrated players download and install Juicy Stakes Poker their current balance from their Cake Poker account will be once again available for use.
Even though Cake Poker already changed its former domain (CakePoker.com) to a European based domain (CakePoker.eu) and all of its players in the rest of the world except the U.S. continue to play there, the migration of U.S. accounts to this other site on the Revolution Network to which the Cake Network sites belong appears to be an effort to corrall their U.S. player base into one place.
