Cake Poker Holds Irish Open 2012 Satellites

Last Updated on

In an earlier post about satellite tournaments at Cake Poker for the 2012 Aussie Millions, we informed you of the site’s approaching Irish Open 2012 satellite series as well, with a promise to provide more detailed information as that time neared.

Well it is now upon us: the Cake Poker Irish Open 2012 satellite series is on, with prize packages valued at $6,000 that cover the €3,500 buy-in into the main event, accommodations and expenses. Unlike many poker sites that require satellite winners to attend the event to which they win a prize package, with no cash redemption value, Cake Poker delivers all the winners’ prizes in the form of $6,000 cash deposited directly into their CakePoker accounts. Players can choose to use that $6,000 to attend the Irish Open, keep that $6k in their player account and use it for playing more online poker at CakePoker, or they can withdraw the money as cash and use it in whatever other way they like.

This is Cake Poker’s fifth year holding satellite tournaments into the Irish Open, which happens to be the longest running live poker tournament in all of Europe, started in the early ’80s when three poker legends: Doyle Brunson, Amarillo Slim and Stu Unger too annual pilgrammages to Dublin, Ireland over Easter to play high stakes poker against some of Ireland’s best poker players.

The $6k Cake Poker Irish Open 2012 satellites take place January 8 and 22, February 5 and 19, and March 4 and 18.
