Last Sunday, July 28, 2013, high-profile high-stakes online poker player Viktor Blom (aka “Isildur1”) had a $1.4 million dollar day, winning that amount in a single day’s play at the Poker Stars cash game tables.
Opting not to participate in this year’s World Series of Poker, Blom started out Sunday morning play at the heads-up $500/$1000 NL Hold’em tables against Ike Haxton (aka “luvtheWNBA”), a player who recently bested Blom at the tables. Except this time it only took 2 hours for Blom to take $150K away from Haxton.
Then Blom proceeded to win $49K playing Triple Draw.
Following that, he won $240K across several 3-handed and 4-handed cash games over the next 3 ½ hours. Another almost 1 ½ hours pooling $423K from fellow poker celebs Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius, and Phil Ivey.
Then came another $73K win after much exchanging of chips over a 40 minute session against SanIker of Germany in a $400/$800 stakes game. The two then moved up the stakes ladder to the $500/$1000 stakes game and Blom handily added another $212K to his win.
At this point, Ike Haxton came back into the action for a little more punishment, enduring 6 hours against Blom in NL Hold’em, a game which also had major swings in both directions, but ultimately it was Blom’s day once again and still, with an additional $110K to his total payday.
While playing against Haxton this time around, Blom was also multi-tabling at FLO8 for 3 ½ hours against two players who collectively seemed to taking $300K off Blom’s payday, but then the tides turned in his favor once again and he came up $24K further ahead.
Blom’s super Sunday closed with a $70K win against SallyWoo, a known poker rival, in heads-up play.
